Any aspirin will do. Bayer is good, but a generic brand is just as effective. A buffered might help if you dog has a sensitive stomach. Do not give your dog other forms of pain relief, like acetaminophen, naproxin, or ibuprofen. These can cause damage to a dogs internal organs and can also be fatal.

Ask your vet. Aspirin dosage is determined by the size of the dog. Never give a dog aspirin with additional ingredients and absolutely never give him acetaminophen (Tylenol).

You should NEVER give aspirin to your dog without a vet's telling you. It is one of the biggest poisons of dogs each year. Ask your vet, not me.

There are special aspirins developed by German vetinarians, mostly because dogs require lower doses of aspiribn than humans to be effective. Give only 50mg of human aspirin to dogs.
