Chlorides occur naturally in water and are safe to drink. Their concentrations vary with the mineral content of the earth. Typically concentrations are small and are not harmful. Small concentrations of chlorides add to the taste of the water. Chlorides give water a salty taste and their recommended concentration is no more than 1 part per 250mg of water.

Yes, there is chloride in the water. Mainly in the form of dissolved sodium chloride - in other words, table salt - or calcium chloride - another innocent salt. You shouldn't worry about chloride level in normal drinking water.

The only thing in water is hydrogen and oxygen. When water gets evaperated, all other impurites get filtrered out naturally. When water is sitting, parasites thrive in it so we (humans) add chemicals to kill them. Water from the faucet should be fine to drink, but you shouldn't drink stagnant water as it may have parasites.
