Aside from fertility treatments that areknown to increase the risk of multiple births, no. Twins happen by pure chance and the chances are only increased by maternal age and genetics.

I personally don't know why you want to go through double the pain of labor when they come out, but to each their own. It is really just a luck of the egg splitting or two eggs getting fertalized. It can't really be controlled.

There are many factors That can lead to conceive twins. If you have a family history of having twins or if you are between the age group of 35-45 years or if you have been undergoing any treatment for fertility can be some factors. Eating yams and being well nourished can also help.

There are two ways you twins happen, either by having multiple eggs fertilize or having an egg split. If you use fertility drugs, then you will likely have multiple eggs.
