You should not try to speed growth in a giant breed pup like this. You want a lean, active pup that grows its bones, ligaments, and muscles slowly to reduce chances of joint problems from rapid growth or too much weight. A good quality dog food and time works best.

Go to your vet and ask him for a dietary supplement. There are vitamin supplements and supplements that incite appetite, if the problem lies in the fact that the puppy doesn't eat enough. The veterinarian should be able to tell you which one will work best. Research different puppy chows and check their nutritional values.

The best thing for "beefing up" a great dane pup would be a high quality, high protein dog food. Danes tend to be thin as puppies.

You should walk your dog each day because he needs the exercise just like you do in order to keep him in great shape.

Great Dane puppies should be a bit thin. Their paws and head will look too big for their thin bodies. They will fill out at about three years old and they will look like adult dogs at this time. You can walk and exercise your dog to keep him in good physical condition and in time he will fill out.

Just like with any person, your dog needs to be getting lots of excersize and playing, to work his muscles. Also pay attention to what is in the dog food.
