Is there any such thing as "good" British wine?

I've tried two, and they were horrible.

Not really. The climate is simply too cold and damp for anything but high acidity, thin wines. If you are looking for tolerable British wines try looking for a sparkling wine kind. The fizz and the high acidity may pair up well enough for you to drink it alongside fatty foods.

Yes, there is. There are two answers to this question. First, there was prett decent wine made in Southeast England during the high middle ages. Presently the only British wineries worth noting are the high-acidity sparkling wines produces throughout southern Great Britain. With global warming one can look forward, however, to an improvement to British wines.

All wines can be good, depending on the users tastes. I personally find British wine to be some of the best available, but my wife feels that it is horrible. The wines you have already tried may have seemed good to some, but in your case they were horrible wines.
