Yes, it is a common European size. The closest European size to our 8 1/2 by 11 is known as A4. If A4 is folded in half it becomes A5 size. Technically A5 is 148 by 210 mm. It is commonly used for brochures. leaflets or flyers. If it's folded it can be a four page greeting card.
