A working freeze free hose has yet to hit the markets. Until then, a frost free valve should be used to protect the water line. Make sure you use at least a 12' extension on the valve, and cover the base of it with a water resistant silicone.

To the best of my knowledge there are freeze resistant hoses but none that are freeze proof because water expands and will stretch out any hose.

I wish then my barn water wouldn't freeze all the time in the winter but you can wrap them with stuff that does help so they won't freeze as quickly or easily.

No. When The winter Months are Approaching The Hose Should Be Drained and Unused Until The warmer Months there Is nothing to prevent it from freezing.
