Is six weeks too soon to bring home a puppy?

We just brought ours home and I would appreciate any suggestions or tips.

A legitimate breeder would not release a pup until it is 8 to 10 weeks old. Six weeks is too young. Puppies need time after weaning to develop some independence from the litter. Greedy breeders are eager to collect the money so they release puppies too early.

It really is younger than a puppy should be away from it's Mother. To help the puppy adjust, get it out in public as much as possible for good experiences

I think that it is. During the first few weeks they need to form a bond to their mother as well as learn to interact with other dogs.

Six weeks is generally the perfect time to bring home a puppy, since they can go to the bathroom on their own and are usually weaned by then.

You puppy should be old enough. Please realize that your puppy will be very bored and need extra love. When we got our puppy years ago my mom had to rock him to sleep every night, until we had had him for sometime. Puppies will ruin everything and anything. Anything you don't want ruined put up or away.
