A puppy should not be taken from its mother prior to a minimum of eight weeks. If you have a pup that is only six weeks old, it needs to be seen by a veterinarian immediately before it's health is compromised beyond repair.

A Heeler puppy can be fed three times a day with store bought puppy food. This should be repeated throughout the puppies first 6 months. When the puppy reaches 6 months of age, you can split the meal into two separate meals still using puppy food.

feed him little by little. feed him at least 6times a day for 5 tsp of his food and 1 cup of water each meal. fedding him little most of the time help him adjust different amount of food until he is really adjusted, you can feed him much as much as he wants
