The general rule of thumb for crate training is to make sure that you are available to let your puppy out for 2 hrs plus their age (2 months + 2hrs = 4hrs) for bathroom breaks. Also never use the crate as punishment it will deter use of it for him.

you should buy or make a cage (a house) for your dog, give him a daily walk every morning, for his meals on time. Last week, you should lead him to the park. Then, training him to sit down or stand up as you want by reward him a bone.

Get a crate big enough for him to lay down and turn around in. Put him in it for a few minutes each day, extending the time each day. Give him a treat as you put him in and say something like, "go to your room. " He will learn to anticipate that if he goes in, he gets the treat.

First, i would borrow a good dog training book from the town library or buy it from a public library. Then i would go really easy on it using only a very positive approach to make sur to not broke the dog caracter.

As cute as he maybe it is wise to start crate trainning as soon as possible. You dont have to lock him up for long 30min. will do.
