Question by  George51 (64)

Is sake better hot or cold?

Wouldn't heating it boil out the alcohol?

Sake is traditionally served warm, but generally you do not boil it. It is just gently warmed so that it keeps most of its liquor content. You may also drink sake icy cold, althought this would not be common in Japan. However, the western palate is more accustomed to cold drinks, and may prefer sake this way.

Well traditionally sake is served warm. That does not mean that it should be boiling hot. The alcohol will not evaporate that quickly since the solution is not that high of a percentage compared to water. Personally I like to drink my sake cooled but it's up to you.
