Is piano easier to play than guitar?

It's a completely subjective question, but I would have to say (for the average person) yes. Notes are in the exact same order and spacing for each octave.

Both the piano and guitar require advanced dexterity of both hands. Both instruments easily create chord structures. The defining variable would be portability. An individual is more likely to practice a guitar that he can take with him than a piano he cannot.
