Moonshine is legal to consume but not to sell. You can make your own moonshine and consume it with your family at your house. You cannot sell the moonshine however. Moonshine is easy enough to make yourself. In the past moonshine sometimes including illegal substances so obviously you cannot make it with those.

No, moonshine is not legal. The problem with moonshine versus other liquors is that one cannot usually regulate the product at home the way they could in a factory. Thus, it would be possible to produce something more like poison and less like a beverage when making moonshine.

NO, usually moonshine is considered to be alchol that is produced by folks in small private stills that are located in areas that by law are "dry". But the main reason that moonshine is illegal is due to the fact that the Federal Alchol Stamp tax is not paid on the product.
