Well, many who have undergone this procedure through Mederma products have allegedt that is safe. Yes, with laser technology, it is safe but there is always that 2% chance

Mederma seems to be effective, but you shouldn't use anything except pure aloe (no alcohol additives) until your scars are healed. You can save yourself some money by just using aloe, which works very well, but Mederma also includes a sunscreen. Vitamin E is also very effective.

Mederma is safe for external application to the skin--as long as it is applied to clean, unbroken skin it is safe to use.
