etiquette

Question by  jessemiller (13)

Is it proper etiquette to send thank you cards to those attending a funeral?

I'm afraid that it may appear thoughtless if I don't send them. However, it may also seem tacky if I do. Please help me.

It is not necessary to send thank you cards to people who attended the funeral, although it would not be tacky if you did. Just a simple note thanking them for their kindness and sympathy would be fine. If they sent flowers, gift basket, donated money or anything like that, you should send a thank you card.

I would probably say no, don't send thank you cards. I have never recieved a thank you care for going to a funeral. And trust me, when you have lost a loved one, people are not going to judge you on whether you sent out cards or not.
