Yes, it is fine to freeze sauerkraut. Use an airtight freezer bag and your sauerkraut can last for up to six months in the freezer. This technique works with either cooked or uncooked sauerkraut. You should not freezer in the original packaging if purchased in a plastic bag and never freeze items in a can.

Yes, It should be packed into a moisture and vapor proof container. Sauerkraut may remain frozen up to six months to a year. The quality my be different after unfreezing. Don't freeze the sauerkraut in it's original packaging, if it was in a plastic bag. Never place sauerkraut in jar or can then place in freezer, as it may explode.

Yes, it is fine to freeze sauerkraut, so long as you do not do it in the can or jar (liquid expands when it freezes, the can or jar might burst). The texture of the sauerkraut might change slightly. To freeze single servings, try using an ice cube tray.

You can freeze the sauerkraut in its original bag or a freezer tight container. Defrost the sauerkraut slowly in the refrigerator.

My husband and I also make sauerkraut, but have never tried freezing it. I see some comments about the flavor being altered, is this true.  add a comment

my mother has made sauerkraut forever and she would often freeze it in plastic freezer bags (uncooked) straight from the barrel...it was always great and the texture never altered.

Sauerkraut can be frozen after it has been cooked without any problems but the taste and texture will not be as good when reheated.
