What are some tips for getting garage freezer?

Our kitchen freezer just isn't big enough for my big family. We're upgrading to a garage freezer. Just looking for some tips from people with freezers in their garages so I can avoid making some of the same common mistakes. Any advice?

A full freezer will use less energy than an empty freezer.Keep the freezer away from any heat sources or direct sunlight,always want to make sure the freezer is shut tight.

I prefer the upright freezer. It is easier to see food on a shelf at eye level versus standing on your head trying to look for something in a chest.
