Take the wallpaper off. You will get a better finish if walls are clean, smooth, and sanded down to a even finish.

If you decide to install backerboard over wallpaper, make sure you know exactly where you want it to go before installation. If you are especially fond of the wallpaper, and don't have extra sheets to replace it, be sure that you actually want to use the backerboard. Otherwise you risk ruining what could be very nice or expensive wallpaper.

Yes it is, first score the wallpaper with a wallpaper scoring tool. Next, apply a thin layer of mortar on top of the wallpaper. Next, start installing your backerboard!

Since the backerboard is a verstaile product, make sure the wallpaper is clean and dry. Ensure this by using a wet rag and letting the wallpaper dry before installation.

No, installing backerboard over wallpaper is just asking for trouble. I'd remove the wallpaper thoughly and make sure that the surface is dry before putting backerboard over it.

This should not pose any problem. As long as you are adhering the backerboard securely and correctly, it is acceptable.

It is okay as long as you make sure the wallpaper is clean and dry before you put the backerboard over it. It is probably a better idea just to go ahead and remove the wallpaper.

I think it will be ok if you put backboards on wall paper. I don't think it will hurt anything at all.
