Is it okay if I have a month long period?

This has happened more than once.

I had this situation in the past and Doctors told me to take Ibuprofen and that would stop the period. When that didn't work, they told me it was just something that would clear up on it's own. A few months later I ended up having emergency surgury to remove a cyst and the ovary it wrapped around.

If your periods are lasting longer than seven days you should consult with an OBGYN to run test and make sure that nothing serious is going on.

It sounds like your body is not regulating your cyles properly. I would strongly recommend seeing a GYN to determine what the underlying cause is. You should also seek medical attention immediately if your menstral flow is very heavy, i. e. more than one sanitary napkin per hour that is soaked through.

No, this is not okay. This is unusual, and it is probably a kind of bleeding rather than a period, so you need to go see your OBGYN as soon as possible.
