What can cause an irregular period?

Last month I had my period. Then it stopped like it was supposed to. Then it started back up the next week and was spotting every other time I went to take a pee. It lasted 4 days with that.

It sounds like your body may not be ovulating correctly. Sometimes you can have spillover bleeding, i. e. spotting, when your body is not regulating properly. If the problem persists, I would contact your GYN.

An irregular period can have many causes. Diet, stress, and age can all affect it. It is possible (although less likely) that there is something medically wrong, too.

There are many reasons for irregular periods, from changes in your hormones, a cyst or a missed miscarriage. You should consult with a doctor.

Every woman's body is different. Irregular periods can be caused by your stress level, diet or medications. If your period continues you should consult your physician.
