You should avoid taking pseudophendrine while you are pregnant. It can cause birth defects and neurological problems. Keep in mind that this is a form of amphetamine.

You should not use pseudophedrine during the first trimester as it has been shown to cause birth defects. Usage in subsequent trimesters may be OK, but only the plain kinds (not extra strength as these contain a form of alcohol). Check with your OB before taking anything!

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynocologists recommed that pseudophedrine not be taken during the first trimester of pregnancy. It has been found that the vasoconstictor ingredients taken early in the pregnancy can cause intestinal deformities. Once you are past the first trimester you should be ok but as always check with your doctor

No, it's not safe to use pseudophedrine while pregnant because it raises your blood pressure and heart rate. See your doctor for an alternative.
