If you just need the boots replaced then it can be done with basic hand tools, but if the entire joint needs to be replaced you should contact a mechanic.

That should always be done by a professional they have to be greased ans the boot has to be put on properly and you need special training for it.

IF you are not very familiar with auto repair or don't have all the necessary tools then you should let a professional mechanic handle it. It is a job the will require disassemble of a lot of suspension components. However it could be done at home with the proper research.

If you are uncomfortable working on your car then let a professional mechanic handle it. However it is something that a person with decent mechanically knowledge can perform.
