How do I repair on a CV joint for my Chevy?

Use a socket wrench to remove the lower cotter pin. Loosen the stud nut, but do not remove it. Loosen the CV joint. You will need a CV joint removal tool to complete this. Once loosened remove the nut and joint from you vehicle. If you have a tough time rotate the steering wheel as far inward as possible.

Typically the cv joint in the half-shaft are not rebuild-able. The entire shaft will need to be removed and replaced. The exact process varies depending on the type of Chevrolet.

well there is a process to repair but really noone carries those parts anymore and beside replacement is easier and just as cost effective.,so remove the old and replace , unless its just the boot .then cut it off replace and reclamp.

Well once a cv joint is worn or damaged it usually can't be rebuilt. This means that the axle has to be removed in order for the joint to be replaced.

Was they go bad, CV joints aren't typically fixable. You are going to have to pull out the half-shaft and install a new one.

Start with carefully reading the manual. You don't want that screw to get loose. The one under the lid! That's crucial.

I don't think you can repair it. I think you might have to get a new one. You should take it in and have a professional look at it. That is your best option.
