Yes, chocolate is also toxic to cats; the same substance called "theobromine" damages both animals. It attacks the nervous system, gastrointestinal system, heart and is a diuretic. That means your cat can have a fit while vomiting, experiencing diarrhea and risking a heart attack. Symptoms are not always immediate and you should always watch your cat if you suspect ingestion.

Yes chocolate is also poisonous to cats, along with onions, raisins and grapes. It is best that your pet does not eat people food.
