Capstar is considered very safe for dogs. The dose per dog is given by their body weight. This pill can even be given to dogs who are nursing and very young dogs. Your vet will have to give you the details on how much to give and yes, they do recommend it.

Vets do recommend Capstar however it should be used very carefully for the first time as it does have potential for allergic reactions.
