Baking soda is a good remedy for stings or anything you want to dry out, but a burn you want to keep moisturized. The best things to use for a burn is a low grade cut/ burn creme from the drugstore or aloe vera.

No, you should just wash a burn with cool water for 10 to 15 mins to cool and clean it and don't put any gels or ointments on them.

No. Put butter on a burn to avoid a blister - not cold water. Apply a paste of baking soda & water to a bee sting to draw the poison out. Put baking soda on a kitchen stove fire -- pan of grease catches fire.

NEVER put butter on a burn! It retains the heat and deepens the burn. It also creates a breeding ground for bacteria.  add a comment

Baking soda is a somewhat caustic substance.I would not use it to alleviate a burn. No matter what the severity of the burn (first degree, second degree, etc.), baking soda will increase the burn result a little bit more.
