Question by  andrewkehoe (22)

Is arachnoiditis following back surgery a medical malpractice case?

No one else has this problem.

Actually, lots of people have symptoms of arachnoiditis, but you should have been aware of this potential complication of back surgery via your informed surgical consent, before surgery.

Considering that arachnoiditis is a condition that could indicate damage to the spinal column or brain, I think you could have grounds for a malpractice case. If you can prove that the condition was a direct result of the surgery and not a pre-exisiting condition, I imagine some lawyer would take the case.
