The Weimar will do the job it needs to for a high school band. If she is planning to play this instrument as a professional, she may not be satisfied with its performance.
While Weimar is generally reported to be a good brand, but make sure you have someone (like the band director) who has experience with trumpets check it over.
The reviews of Weimar trumpets are mixed. Some people say they are just fine. Others say they often develop mechanical problems, such as sticky valves. Weimar trumpets are made in China, so there might be difficulty in getting ahold of spare parts. How old is the classmate's trumpet? It would be worth checking out other brands like Bach or Yamaha.
I own a Weimar trumpet. While in general it produce ok sound, mine does have sticky valve that won't go away even with valve oil. Very frustrating. Consider other options first. I bought mine because it's super cheap and I have no budget... (got them off ebay)
I own two Weimar trumpets, one silver, one brass. Not bad for a cheap trumpet! I haven't had any issues with them, other than sticky valves, but I fixed that with some Blue Juice valve oil.
