Yes, being its small size, its lifespan of about 15 to 17 years, not needing much excersise, and they show low aggression. The small size is good so the dog doesn't topple the kid over. The low aggression is very good for small kids.

Bichon Frise is a perfect dog for children.They are well Tempered and very loving breed.Perfect for kid's and elderly people.

No. Their intelligence is best suited for older children. Small dogs aren't the best for small children because they tend to bite or get nippy when they get their tails and ears pulled on. They just lack patience. If you already have a small dog in the house that you trust then it's okay to have the dog around.

Bichons can be okay dogs for children as long as they are trained well. Since Bichon's are smaller dogs, you would need to teach your children to be more gentle with the dog than you would with something the size of a lab.
