In the Old Testament's Book of Job, what is the "leviathan?"

In modern Hebrew, Leviathan means "whale. " It was likely a reference to a very large sea creature, possibly a whale or giant squid. Some scholars have argued the leviathan is a Nile crocodile (or, on the fringes of scholarship, a dinosaur). No one alive today knows for sure, though.

No one knows for sure but conjecture leads people to believe that what is being described is a deep sea whale.
