How to write an appeals letter for college?

I was accused of something I did not do while on my college campus and need to write a letter of appeal stating my case.

Write a one page letter that is clear, professional, and thorough. Explain the charge made against you. Then explain that you did not commit them. Include any evidence in a neutral fashion. Don't get angry. Get factual. End the essay by expressing your desire to remain at college. Thank them.

Get as much fact and evidence to verify that you didn't do what you were accused of. It's not going to hurt to get character references, too.

The first thing you need to do is fess up. Colleges don't just kick people out for no reason at all.

Step one, make sure the letter is addressed to the right person and department. Be dispassionate and list out one by one the accusations and your rebuttal. Make sure you include proof and are polite.
