I find that the best way to do this is to first braid the section you are beading, then use a large needle threader, place the bead on the threader, then pull the braid through. Repeat this until you have all the braids you want on the hair. Then use a small elastic band to secure the beads.

An easy way to put beads into your hair is if you french braid small sections of hair. To do this, section of top pieces of your hair and braid in small braids. While doing this, every three crossovers or so, put a bead onto a piece of the braid.

Beads are normally crimped in (squashed around the hair) and can be glued in like extensions are, woven in, and placed around braids and dreadlocks. Some are actually mounted on elastics designed to hold onto the hair but not show up under a careful inspection. Somtimes sot clay is shaped onto hair and heated with an iron, forming a bead.
