The sturdiness would depend on what the wand is made from. If the wand isn't made real thin and it's made from plastic or wood, it would probably last awhile.
Most are made of a cheap plastic material and may not be too sturdy. On the good side, they are reasonable priced as to where you can buy multiple wands to use for this purpose.
