How should I treat an abrasion around my ankle from a sandal strap?

however the area around the wound is swelling and is making my skin red i have iced it and th swelling did go down some. there is liquid or pus drainage coming from the wound is just swollen in over a 2 inch area around the wound!

If there is pus draining from the wound, it sounds like it is infected. You should go see a doctor. They will be able to prescribe antibiotics as needed.

Discontinue wearing the sandals, place a band aid on the wound and apply neosporen. Since there is drainage you may need peroxide as well.

Wash it with soap and water, let it air dry and apply antibiotic cream to it and bandage it for the first 2-3 days.

Clean the wound with a mild soap and some water. Then clean it with a little bit on rubbing alcohal.
