How should I go about making cookies from a cake mix?

There are recipes for them at many recipe sites. The recipe you use will vary depending on the mix you have on hand. I am not crazy about cake mix cookie recipes that contain shortening, but they do taste better when you use an equivalent amount of butter instead.

My friend gave me a great recipe: Mix 1/3 cup water, 1/4 cup soft butter and an egg. Slowly add cake mix, blend for 2-3 minutes. Add 1.5 cups chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tsp onto greased cookie sheet, bake at 350 for 9-12 minutes.

Add a little extra flour so it will almost hold its shape in a ball, then spoon on to the greased cookie sheet (or silpat). To make it more interesting, dip in powdered sugar before placing on sheet. Cook in a 350 degree oven about 15 minutes.
