The funny thing is, that in this day of equality men still do not like to be persued. They like to be the ones to do the asking. If they can't ask, would you really want to go out with someone like that? Anyway, it isn't a good idea.

Well it depends on how you ask him. You should make sure that you get to know him first. Then you should proceed in asking him for his telephone number. You want to also make sure that you at least give him a chance to ask for yours instead.
