How painful are nipple piercings?

Answer by  justaskforbrandy (553)

Nipple piercings, in my opinion, would be at least a 6 on a scale of 10. But it all just depends on your amount of pain tolerance.

When they are healed, not infected, not being actively used for breast feeding and not close to a nerve they are not painful.

I won't lie a nipple piercing is going to hurt, after all it is a piercing, but the pain is tolerable. Most people say that the clamps are worse than the piercing itself. The most important thing to remember is to breath and relax, it will be over before you know it.

It depends on the size of the needle they use, and it also depends on you and how much can you handle pain, they do freeze it, or at least they should before they pierce it. It should feel like a slight pinch, the after care is worse then the piercing itself though.

Nipple piercings are pretty painful (just think about how it can feel to pinch them too hard). But the pain of piercings only last a little while & will go away. Taking tylenol or advil might help with the pain. Pain is temporary but the piercing will be there forever!

The level of pain on any piercing depends upon the person being pierced, as well as the piercer. An experienced piercer will generally provide more comfort. Then again, you are getting a needle pushed through your skin, so some discomfort is unavoidable. However, it is not unbearable.

nipple piercings are very painful if you have sensitive nerve endings in your nipples, which by the way I would imagine most people do.

Getting a nipple piercing is definitely painful, however pain is relative and the needle prick only lasts for a second.
