An item is considered an antique when it reaches 100 years old. But this is true for everything but automobiles which reaches antique status at 25 years old. Trucks also.

An item has to be 100 years old to be considered an antique by the U.S. Custom Service, but ask several antique dealers and you will receive several different answers as to what age makes it an antique. For most people anything made before the 1920's is an antique and anything made after this is a collectible.

The term antique can have different years spanning depending on the desirability of the object. For example, a 10 year old computer might be considered an antique, however jewelry might need 50 years before. Also, just because of the age, a 300 year old sandwich won't be an antique.
