How much land in Alaska is owned by the federal government?

I've heard they own most of it.

Alaska is the largest and also the least populated state in the United States. That could be because the Federal Government owns about 65% of the state of Alaska. Alaska has the largest percentage of land owned by the Federal Government than any other state.

It is true the Federal government owns a great deal of Alaska. The United States Bureau of Land Management has studied the question and states about 65% is owned and managed by the U. S. government.
