Well last year when i cooked food for my family and extended family last thanksgiving season. We cooked a total of 4 whole turkeys, and about 16 sides of other foods. Stuffing, Yams, and mash potatoes. It fed them with plenty to spare left over. Don't forget to get a healthy amount of drinks for the occasion.

Plan for 2 of each individual item per person (rolls, etc. ), plus enough to serve each person at least 1/2 cup of each side dish (stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy). You should also plan for each person to consume at least 5 to 10 snacks before dinner (cheese and crackers, etc. ).

For 50 people, you'll need quite a buffet. You will need a very large selection of meats, veggies, potatoes, and desserts.
