How much do you spend on groceries a month?

In an average month we spend at least $500 on groceries just for us. This includes ingredients for every day meals for my husband and I as well as formula, baby food and snacks for my son. We also purchase some extra for our guests. We probably spend at least an additional $50 just for guests.

During the school year, I live with a roommate. Between the two of us, it runs about $180. So, for just me, it would be $90 per month.

I spend about Indian Rupees. 8000 per month for groceries. More amount is spent on sugar, coffee powder, milk powder & rice. In addition to buying groceries from supermarkets, I purchase immediately required items from the local market also for which more amount is required as they are not allowing any discount on purchases.
