The cost of an extended warranty will depend on how many years you want to cover. In general, I have found it it very beneficial to purchase extended warranties for unforeseen problems.

It all depends on what the warranty is on. If for a vehicle, then yes it is definitely worth the money you'd pay for it.

It depends on what you are buying, what store you are buying it from, etc. Though more often than not with electronic devices, it is better to be safe.

It depends on the cost of the item in most cases. But appliances will be $1-3. TV warranties range from $29-$199 depending on the company you buy from and the item you purchase. But generally speaking warranties generally run up to 10% of the cost of the item.
