Including the most recently released film, "Rocky Balboa" (2006), there have been six Rocky movies, all starring Sylvester Stallone: Rocky (1976), Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), Rocky IV (1985), Rocky V (1990) and Rocky Balboa (2006). The films were also all written by Sylvester Stallone and follow the life of the fictional boxer Rocky Balboa.

The first Rocky came out in 1976, and from there there were four more. Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), Rocky IV (1985), and Rocky V (1990). Then, in 2006, sixteen years after the last Rocky movie in the series, another movie came out called Rocky Balboa. This makes a total of six Rocky movies all together.
