As long as you pay close attention to the water quality, you can keep 3 guppies in a 1 gallon tank. Add gravel, plants, filter floss and decorations into the tank. Only change 25% of the water every week. Feed a small amount of fishfood once or twice daily.

Fit in the least number of fish and they'll be happy. 1-2 male and female guppies are enough and may reproduce depending on the conditions in the tank.
