Basketball was invented over 100 years ago by James Naismith. The first game of basketball began in Springfield, Massachusetts when Mr. Naismith attached two peach baskets to the top of two ten foot ladders. He placed the ladders at opposite ends of a gym. Since then, the game has evolved and is enjoyed by athletes world wide.
