I want to be a barber.

The requirements for obtaining a barber's license vary by state. The amount of time spent in a barber training program is usually at least 1200 to 1500 hours. Working as a barber's apprentice is an option as well but requires more time.

You can obtain a cosmotology certification, which you need to be a barber, in as little as one year. The cost of the school is relatively inexpensive and is widely available throughout the country.

Depending on the school in which you go to it will take you anywhere from nine months to a year to obtain your barbers license. However some schools may take up to 18 months if you are going to specialize in color and chemical processing for ladies hair. Keep in mind that every state has different requirements.
