Rigot mortis is a state of muscle tension after death. It happens very quickly after death, usually within half an hour.

Well it start setting in about 3 hours after death with full rigamortis setting in at the 12 hour mark. rigamortis is the stiffening of the muscles and after it hits the 12 hour mark the muscles will start to unstiffen and after 72 hours signs of the rigamortis will usually dissapear.

For a guinea pig, rigor mortise will take around one hour to set in. It can still be twitching for quite a while though if the synapse in the brain are still firing. Depending on the temperature and other emviormental issues, rigor mortise can last as long as 3 days.

Rigor mortis is a stiffening of the muscles that takes place after death. It will usually start to take place about three hours after death. Full rigor mortis is reached usually within 12 hours of death. Rigor mortis is usually finished after 72 hours, but may last a little longer.
