do not twist/touch/play/change your piercing until it heals. it takes between 2-4 months for a external oral piercing to heal completly. clean it 3times aday. rinse with a non-alcohol mouthwash after eating/drinking/ect. taking IBprophan can help with pain and swelling. after washing your face rinse piercing well for several min.

It varies for different people. You have to clean it daily and make sure to twist it around too. I'd say let it be and don't play with it.

I have had my lip and labret pierced numerous times, it generally swells up for a week then once the swelling subsides the soreness should subside, (if cleaned properly) to clean it make a saline solution boil water, put into a cup then add a tea spoon of sea salt (not table salt the additives will irritate the piercing)
