Female dogs have there period for over 21 days or more. They have three stages when they get this the first stage is when they go in head, the second is when they are bleeding which this stage could last anywhere from 1 to 21 days and the third is when there getting out of heat

Every dog is different but usually it take about two weeks in total. If you do not want this to happen again then you need to go to the vet and get your dog fixed. She will "have her period" twice a year if you do not and if she gets in contact with a male dog could get pregnant.
