Question by  REMYA (9)

How long can you go without changing fuel filters with a 6.0 powerstroke?

I have not changed the fuel filter in two years and am concerned that I will have damage to my engine.

The service interval is 15,000 miles on the fuel filters. If you have gone two years without replacing them, I would replace them right away.

Two years doesn't sound too long to go without changing the filter as long as you use quality gas. If not you may want to inspect the filter to see how dirty it is. Otherwise you can attach a pressure gauge to the line and see if it still flows the correct amount. If not it need replaced.

the fuel filter is not the cause of engine damaging, it is suggested that keep monitoring after every six months, now its better you should change it immediately.

It is ideal to change the fuel filter every year to ensure engine longevity. Give some attention to the little things and it will serve you well.
